It's been a busy summer and no time with the car, but now we've got lot's of motivation to continue I did some planning for the next summer and decided to use STD M30 bottom end with low boost. Found a cheap one, cylinder head still missing..
We also did some research of blow-off valves or dump valves and noticed cheap ones had serious quality problems and those well known brands cost a million. I spent days modelling our own product which finally became even lighter and more compact compared to similar valve! And the price tag should be no problem for anyone looking for a dump valve Yesterday we started machining the first prototypes (raw version) for testing, let us know what do you think!
Today I had a feeling, that I must continue with the project.. I dig the front piece from the garage and finished mountings for the oil cooler and radiator. Bottom of the radiator will lay on two rubber pads.
Welded upper mounts:
Earlier I started to fit the brake calipers, finally made them fit "deep" enough, needed some more cutting of the king-pins.. 17in wheels will be no problem I think RF centres needed a 20mm spacer:
Yesterday I got my rear brake adapters and I anodized them dark grey:
I'm planning to buy Ferodo DS2500 brake pads, haven't heard any good about EBC (though I have a set of greenstuff in my bicycle ).. Any other suggestions about pads?
Finally after anodizing our dump valve got laser engraved texts in it's cap:
Recently I made a place for the IC radiator, that was pretty much the only place because I didn't want to stuff anything extra to the front. Water tank and pump will be placed to the trunk also.
Fuel tank is now isolated from the cabin, I wasn't really satisfied with the previous version but this turned out better Horizontal tubes support rear wing and vertical ones sway bar fastening points:
Here's air intake for cabin heater, I'm going to use an universal heater unit. Water should run to direction of the blue arrow and red arrow shows path for air:
IC is also now mounted, heater will be bolted on top of it:
Wood workshop! Plywood model almost done, today I must check if the gear stick has enough room, you can't remember everything at once...
