Thanks. It's fun to drive, too. I'm preparing it today for a test session at Thunderhill. Our next race is Dec 3-4.
Thanks. It is a lot of fun to drive, too. And we even have won our class with it!
Apen. Don't come here and steal them.
But this picture... you're supposed to look at is and say "Oh, my, what a pretty car, and pretty place. That guy is so lucky. I wish I could be him." ;)
Do you mean the Cobra? ;)
The seat in the Opel is reclined a bit too, for the same reason. That is one small car!
It used to lay back a bit to give me room for my helmet.
You wouldn't like it. No polar bears. Just lazy brown bears. Basically big dogs.
The motor is still running strong, somewhere just under 90 whp, and that after 25 years sitting in an orchard, then over 2,000 miles on the track and about 800 miles on California freeways.
At our last race we brought home two tropies, of for 1st in C Class, and the other, the top prize, with $1501, the "Index of Effluency".
Nothing. It has been getting to the track for track days and instructing, but no mods or anything like that. All of our time and energy has been going into the other car, the yellow Opel GT. Our last race was in December, the next race us in March.
Great job. People who do this sort of thing, the restoration, deserve some kind of meaningful award. More than just a nice place in Heaven to work on cars. Maybe like pay no taxes for the rest of their life.
Tack.
We've done one race and finished mid-pack in a field of 120 cars. So, not bad, but not good. Three rookie drivers and two very experienced drivers on the team. In this series, though, the team that has the most fun wins.
We race as Team Tinyvette, which should make sense.
Laguna Seca IS fun. It's been years since I drove there and I'd like to get back soon.
Thanks. I love sunrises at the track.
Thanks. I think it almost catches the look/spirit of the ALMS Corvettes. Nice site here, too. Tim, a friend in Sweden, encouraged me to post here.
Yes, it is an old motor. We didn't do any work on it except take out the red straw from the #2 cylinder, change the oil, and get new spark plugs. Before the next race we'll see if adjusting the valves helps.
Get pictures and video for us. I'm heading up to Thunderhill again this Friday!
Thanks. I've had it for 10 years already and I still like it's looks. Rock chips and all.
