Hi all and no problems about the thread. I can understand Lee being concerned about his car.
As usual we really do try to get to the bottom of most problems faced by our customers. In this case and a few others in the same position it can be impossible for us to get involved.
Once a car in the UK has been declared "EXPORTED" the original owner (the seller of the car) can no longer apply for a new V5C. As we are not the original owners of this car, we cannot even talk to the DVLA about it. Only the original owner (seller) can speak to them. It's all down to data protection.
It is the fault if the DVLA who have made the mistake when entering the details onto their system as this car was imported into the UK. It is quite common with the Supra as the DVLA confuse the "Z" in the chassis number with a "2". They should have a fast fix for this, but they don't.
I have sent Lee an email this evening stating exactly what he needs to do. Only he can contact (fax) the DVLA with the receipt from the seller and the original V5C details. I have offered my help with wording of the letter and how to fill in the form if he needs it.
As for the wheels, they are on their way to Gothenburg on Thursday and arriving on Saturday.
I really hope that this problem will be solved as quickly as possible and again, we are sorry that this problem was not spotted before we collected the car for Lee.
Regards.
