Hello hello hello !!!!! Just joined this lovely forum from UK !!!! i had been looking for a forum with sooo much practical experience and knowledge of volvo T5 engines and here I am. So I have started my T5 project but I must warn that I am so slow :-( because I am a family man and have a second baby coming Dec17, and I have a wife ! so I can only work when I am allowed to. so I don't have the two most important needs for the project! Time & Money! but if you really want something, you have to get it :-) so this is my vision: Please don't say its weird !! I will also be asking lots of questions as i am new to the t5's... the idea is:
B5234T VVt
HX30
home built exhaust manifold
ZF GS637DZ
Scahs 707 pressure plate
target 1.5bar boost with bensin 95/98
400whp target
stock pistons
H-beam rod
dirven by ECU Master EMU
fit into a Lexus LS400 1994 ! YES LEXUS!
want to take the 1UZ for another project later :-)
but please I will ask some questions. so now I have removed the engine. never ran the engine before so dont know what to expect. will see inside when the con rods go in.
like I said im very slow so engine came out in Aug17
not very good that I don't have a garage. I am building the engine inside a big van !! but good that we have many machines at work. lathe, mill, grinder etc. so here is the engine in my van
so my plan is to build a rig for the engine where I can start it first. after starting then I will rebuild the rods with new timing belt, water pump and head gasket. so I started to construct the rig
so took out the turbo and manifold so I can use the original manifold as a guide for the new flange
and started to make some pipes for the manifold and merge collector
not so good welder :-( and using the flux core mig. will be investing in gas tig for better welding.
next plans -->
finish the exhaust manifold
re-construct inlet manifold with 80mm alu throttle and TPS
fit HX30.
get a small fuel tank and pump for starting and mount the radiator
order con-rods and rebuild engine
start again
fit into vehicle. the big construction.
and going in here
