The Impala ranks as the most successful special-edition car ever offered by Chevrolet.
The '94-'96 Impala SS is the last, and maybe the best, of the full-size American muscle cars - big, powerful, beautiful.
Production of the Impala SS stopped on December 13, 1996 along with all full-sized GM cars. And when production ended, so ended the era of legendary cars like the Pontiac GTO, Plymouth Roadrunner, Dodge Charger, and of course the Chevrolet Impala SS.
When production of the Impala SS ended, we truly lost a part of history. Created in the 60's and 70's, the big, powerful American sedan represented the American dream, even though only a few were ever made. Now the Impala SS is all that's left of that dream.
So if you are lucky enough to see one of these big, Chevy sedans with four, huge tires and a "make my day" attitude, take a good look. You won't be seeing it for long.
