bought Friday 19 march 2011 For 9000kr, as a replacement for my 1990 744 GLE 16V that was totalted.
I wanted a 960 For some time because I wanted Automatic found this one bought it unseen or pics from a dealer 200km away, With 511.000km on it. picked it up a week later and drove it home with no problems other than it leaked coolat from behind the head on the right side edge and it stil has Working ECC and still usning R-12
Looking over the paper work when i got home. 4 brand new OEM doors put on 5 mounths before, 2 brand new Nivomat shocks, New timing belt OEM, New brakes allround, including Calibers, E-brake wires and hoses, over 100 pages of parts bills, all done at Volvo.
changed the left front side marker bulb and drove it to Inspection, passed with only the headlights adjusted wrong.
Drove it for 3 mounths no issus at all. then one day driving home from work it just lost power for few seconds while overtaking a semi.
when i came home I noticed the E-fan ran on full speed and for longer than normal, normaly turns off 10 sec after i shut the engine off. hmm poped the hood and it had pucked milky oil all over the engine bay from the Dipstic (broke the handle 2 days before).
Took of the oil cap sure enough headgasket...
Had the head off that afternoon. replacement parts a day later and back on the road like nothing happend and NO MORE LEAKING COOLANT.
Bottom Left look at all the gunk from the leak.
Nothing really happend other than regular oil change, Transmission Flush, Plugs, fluids and a Left rear wheel bearing.
Allways liked these stearing wheels Good Wood Sport wheel, Finaly found one.
Then Sadly may 2012, I crashed with car trailer towing a 854 GLT had a trailer tire blow out after hiting a big hole, spun around and hit the ditch.
put it Back together with a New tow bar and another rear bumper and drove like this most of this year.
Just before Summer i had trip to Mora (Sweden) with a few frinds as my frinds family lives there and he havent seen them since 2008 where he moved to Denmark.
At Skövde and comming down from Mora to Stockholm this comming down at Vättern into Jönköping
In the summer of 2012 it developed a loud CLUNK when taking of or when using kick down.
I thought it was the upper Diff bushing (had this problem with my 89 760 Turbo. I put it off for some time because if hate doing it, But When changing rear brake Pads i found THIS.
Both Rear front mounting brackets for the Rear Subframe was rusted very badly onlu hold on by the drive shaft and rear brackets. it had shifted so much that i had rubed the Tank on the Left side.
2 New brackets and bolts orderd and changed they are pretty bad.
December 1 2012 Time to repair the damage from earlyer this year. with help from my parts car.
Just need paint now.
Picked these very nice seats, OEM Rear Speakers for the hat shelf, Rear spoiler and few other stuff from a 944 Turbo from work (work at a Volvo Dealer) that had a rear and colision.
Also mounted the very nice SC802 Premium Sound from a T5-R and 6 CD Changer underneat the Glove box.
This is mostly to sum it up for the 2 years and 80.000km I have owned it.
