I'm working on a 855 T5-R TGul automatic and I was thinking about to install an engine from a 2004 V70R because I have a little bit of parts in my garage:

- V70R engine 2.5
- T19 turbo (new)
- white or green injectors
- K24 turbo (old)
- polished 850 T5-R cylinder head
- breaking v70R 2004 (complete car)
- 850 T5 manual wiring harness

I think it will be easier if I install the 850 cylinder head in the V70R engine. I wouldn't like change the ECU(With a BSR update). I hope that this parts will work really good with a 19T turbo and white injectors. I only want over 300 or 350 hp.

I know that there will be problems with the speed sensor. Does somebody have a m66 instaled in a volvo 850?

Kilroy30 here on the page has build in a S60R Engine with M66 gearbox in the older verision of V70, MY97. Maybe you could get some information from him. The 850 and early V70 is almost same car.

Don't put the older head on .the newer Rn head has much better flow and mecanical camshafts.look at volvospeed.com in "the Why build" ......you can take a look at My V70 -98 i have installed a 2.5 t -04 engine in it.i have tried to write down a list on what to do in the swap but it's in  swedisch.....sorry for My bad english:O
